The Civil Procedure Code, 1908 - Section 89 - The Court Fees Act, 1870 – Section 16 - The Maharashtra Court Fees Act, 1959 – The Legal Service Authority Act, 1987 – Section 21 - Award of Lok Adalat - Refund of Fee - A litigant who settles a suit before Lok Adalat held under the Act of 1987 is entitled to 100% refund of Court Fees paid.

Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 - S.19 - Authority and competence of a lawyer appointed by a party to conduct a suit on its behalf to settle the suit claim before a Lok Adalat.

Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881 -  S. 138 -  Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987 -  S. 21  (2)   -  In case of settlement of any matter relating to Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, the Lok Adalath must ensure that before passing the award, the entire amount settled between the parties is paid.
